Larnaca is poised for a major transformation with a €90 million proposal for a new luxury marina that promises to elevate the city’s waterfront and real estate landscape. Submitted by the Larnaca Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EBEL), the plan envisions the development of a modern marina adjacent to the existing one, blending tradition with innovation.
The new marina would include 600 berths, 150 on-land storage spaces, facilities for superyachts, green energy systems, and recreational zones. In addition, support buildings for government services, conference areas, and leisure infrastructure are proposed, making the marina a gateway for high-end tourism and investment.
Significantly, the project maintains the current marina under local municipal management, preserving its traditional character and affordability. The adjacent development, however, will be leased to a private investor for 125 years, unlocking large-scale investment potential.
For the real estate industry, the benefits are clear: increased property values, new development opportunities, and broader urban revitalization. With enhanced infrastructure and tourism appeal, demand for residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces is expected to rise sharply.
By combining sustainable design with high-end amenities, Larnaca’s proposed marina project signals a bold step toward modernizing the city while maintaining its cultural identity — a move set to make waves across Cyprus’s real estate market.
